There are a lot of things about me that people find odd. The fact that I am six feet tall is fascinating to some people. The fact that I don’t have- or want- children is another “oddity” about me that I have spent hours discussing with people for years now.<\/span><\/div>\n

Another thing about me that people tend to think is rather odd is that I am good friends with my ex-husband. My personal favorite was the person who said that she could not believe that my current husband would “let” me be friends with my ex. There are so many things ridiculous about that statement I am not even sure where to start. I guess the thought that at my age anyone other than me would pick my friends is the most mind boggling! Aside from that inquiry I get lots of other questions and strange looks from people who find it difficult to understand my “odd” relationship with someone I used to be married to. <\/span><\/div>\n

Thankfully I have come to terms with being “odd”. I have figured out that I have to do what makes ME happy, not what other people think will make me happy. One of my favorite quotes is from Eleanor Roosevelt- “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”. The first time I read that I didn’t believe it. But I do now and having that knowledge makes being “odd” a lot easier to be.<\/span><\/div>\n
