I don’t do New Years Resolutions.\u00a0 They are overrated.<\/p>\n
The calendar turning from December 31st to January 1st isn’t magical.\u00a0 \u00a0You are still the same person you were yesterday, and the day before that.\u00a0 You’ll still be the same person tomorrow.\u00a0 My long-suffering former shrink once told me “Wherever you go, there you are”.\u00a0 And that’s true whether that move is physical or otherwise.<\/p>\n
There is a lot of pressure in today’s society to constantly be running, improving, striving for more.\u00a0 There’s nothing inherently wrong with a desire for self-improvement, but it can become overwhelming and exhausting trying to measure up to what society, your family, or anyone else thinks you should be.<\/p>\n
If you truly want to make a change to your diet or exercise regimen, go for it.\u00a0 If you truly want to write the great American novel or start that new business or go back to school, go for it.\u00a0 You don’t have to wait for a magical day to get started!<\/p>\n
But before you get started, make sure it’s what YOU want, and not what you think you should want, or what someone else tells you to want (excluding doctor’s orders of course).\u00a0 \u00a0It’s OK to not want to be a CEO or the President or a Double Diamond level whatever.\u00a0\u00a0It’s OK to be content.\u00a0 It’s OK to just be yourself, today and every day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
