{"id":18,"date":"2015-05-12T00:34:00","date_gmt":"2015-05-12T00:34:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2015-11-10T03:35:26","modified_gmt":"2015-11-10T03:35:26","slug":"why-so-serious","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beckypalmer.me\/?p=18","title":{"rendered":"Why so serious?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">I bought myself a coloring book last week. \u00a0It&#8217;s full of beautiful drawings of cats in intricate surroundings. \u00a0My husband thought it was a gift for my niece who turns four today, but nope, it&#8217;s for me. \u00a0And I am loving it.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">It&#8217;s just one example of me not taking myself too seriously. \u00a0It&#8217;s a skill that took time, but now that I have it everything else is a lot easier for me, so I highly recommend it.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Being my father&#8217;s daughter I&#8217;m always seeing the silver lining- this is also a great skill to cultivate if your DNA didn&#8217;t give it to you. \u00a0Not only will you be happier, but studies show you will live longer and be healthier than your gloomy counterparts.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Yes, sometimes life sucks. \u00a0And yes, there are always issues and events that need to be taken seriously. \u00a0But not nearly as many as most people seem to think.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">I take my job seriously, but I still manage to have fun while I&#8217;m doing it. \u00a0I take my marriage seriously but I&#8217;m having the time of my life in it. \u00a0I take pet ownership seriously. \u00a0Cleaning up cat puke isn&#8217;t exactly a great time, but having a purring bundle of love in your lap makes it all worthwhile. \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">So, when in doubt, ask yourself &#8220;What is the worst thing that could possibly happen&#8221;?
