Unless you are living under 2 rocks and a plastic bag, you know that the world is full of bad, sad, and generally depressing things right now (perhaps this has always been the case, but that’s an argument for another day).\u00a0 \u00a0 It feels like it’s becoming more and more difficult to have a conversation without it becoming politically charged and\/ or ugly in a very short period of time.<\/p>\n
So what does one do to retain their sanity?\u00a0 Burying your head in the sand isn’t the answer.\u00a0 It’s incumbent on us as citizens to be informed about our nation and our planet.\u00a0 \u00a0But watching the news – any news- is enough to make anyone wish for the swift release of Armageddon.\u00a0 We could only talk to people we agree with, but in reality that’s only a slight variation on burying your head in the sand.\u00a0 We could self – soothe with booze, pot, Xanax, etc.\u00a0 But that’s a temporary solution and not a very healthy (or maybe even legal) one at that.\u00a0 \u00a0We could agree with everyone – no matter how insane- and never ruffle any feathers.\u00a0 But that’s being untruthful and turning a blind eye to real issues that deserve our time and attention.<\/p>\n
So, how do you cope?\u00a0 What do you do for self-care\/ stress release\/ sanity retention?\u00a0 No,\u00a0seriously- what do you do?\u00a0 I’m looking for answers for myself as well as my readers and humanity in general.<\/p>\n
