Our local embarrassment, Congressman Steve King of Iowa’s 4th District, was at it again this week.\u00a0 Apparently admitting he’s a white nationalist, being openly mysogynistic, and just being all over ignorant wasn’t enough.\u00a0 Apparently being so generally repulsive that his own party has barred him from serving on any committees or positions of leadership wasn’t enough.<\/p>\n
Nope.\u00a0 This past week, Steve defended rape and incest.\u00a0 \u00a0 He said “What if we went back through all the family trees and just pulled out anyone who was a product of rape or incest? Would there be any population of the world left if we did that?”\u00a0 \u00a0He then spent 3 days defending the comments, but over the weekend changed tactics,\u00a0 stating that he was a victim of a life wing media attack and that everyone- including his own party- owes him an apology.\u00a0 Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to happen.<\/p>\n
I’m often asked how Steve keeps getting reelected.\u00a0 Hell if I know.\u00a0 I CAN tell you that in the time I’ve lived in Iowa (13 years) he’s gotten more and more hateful and extreme with his language.\u00a0 He used to just be a bumbling idiot, sort of like that one uncle every family seems to have but loves anyway.\u00a0 His metamorphosis from that into Klan ally has seen unsettling to say the least.<\/p>\n
Even if you have never voted for a Democrat in your life, there is simply no excuse left for voting for Steve King.\u00a0 \u00a0 He isn’t taken seriously by his own party, let alone anyone else.\u00a0 He can’t serve on any committees, so he’s not shaping any policy.\u00a0 \u00a0All he is doing in DC is collecting a paycheck and making headlines for saying truly awful things.\u00a0 He is wasting your tax dollars and making us look like fools in the process.\u00a0 \u00a0Stop the madness.\u00a0 \u00a0Make this buffoon go away.<\/p>\n
