If there was ever a time we needed World Cocktail Day, it’s 2020!<\/p>\n
Fun fact- cocktails as we know them were largely the result of the poor quality of spirits available (legally or otherwise) during the 1920’s and 1930’s.\u00a0 Something was needed to mask the taste of bathtub gin and so mixers because hugely popular.\u00a0 \u00a0By the time the quality of booze improved folks had gotten used to the flavor of mixed drinks and their popularity only grew as bartenders got more and more creative with their offerings.<\/p>\n
So today let’s toast (responsibly of course) all those folks who gave us the cocktail and thank our lucky stars that we aren’t brewing our own gin in the bathtub.\u00a0 At least not yet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
