Today we celebrate those amazing men and women who chose to go into animal medical practice.<\/p>\n
Some of them focus on large animals and treat farm animals like cows, pigs, sheep and horses.\u00a0 Others chose to focus on small animals and treat our beloved household pets including cats, dogs and birds.\u00a0 There are even some who do both!<\/p>\n
Fun fact- because there are fewer schools offering the program, it is actually harder to become a vet than it is to become an MD.\u00a0 My own doctor claims he went to medical school with someone who was only there because they didn’t get into vet school (then again, my doctor can be a bit of a story teller, so he may have embellished it a little)!<\/p>\n
