Well, it finally happened.\u00a0 I turned 50 this past week.<\/p>\n
People keep asking me how I feel.\u00a0 The answer is I have no idea.\u00a0 \u00a0I have been low-key dreading this for some time now, but now that it’s actually here I don’t know what I was expecting.<\/p>\n
I certainly don’t feel like I thought I would when I thought about this milestone some time ago.\u00a0 I feel older, but not OLD.<\/p>\n
I got my first mailing from AARP 2 weeks before my birthday.\u00a0 My husband (who is older than me) thought that was pretty funny.\u00a0 \u00a0I see adds for products for “older adults” that I KNOW are aimed at me (even though the actors in the ads look to be at LEAST 75).<\/p>\n
But I’m not OLD, right?<\/p>\n
Yes, I have coworkers young enough to be my kids.\u00a0 Sure, I have given up any pretense of knowing anyone on top 40 radio.\u00a0 I admit I tell people I’m too old for Tik Tok.\u00a0 It’s true my short term memory is absolute shit.\u00a0 And perhaps best of all (ha) , I’m in full on menopause.\u00a0 But I’m not THAT old.<\/p>\n
