Jewelry.\u00a0 What every woman wants.\u00a0 Right?<\/p>\n
Of course not.\u00a0 But that’s what you’d think if you have been watching TV, picked up a newspaper or magazine, or even read a billboard or two while driving down the road.<\/p>\n
To be perfectly clear, I have nothing against jewelry.\u00a0 I own quite a bit, even though I don’t wear much of it very often.\u00a0 Everyone should wear what makes them happy.\u00a0 What I hate are jewelry ads.<\/p>\n
Virtually all jewelry ads imply that women will love their husbands\/\u00a0 boyfriends more if they buy them large, sparkling trinkets to wear.\u00a0 \u00a0That women are easily swayed by expensive gifts.\u00a0 That women are materialistic and shallow.<\/p>\n
I am none of those things.\u00a0 The vast majority of the women I know aren’t any of those things either.\u00a0 \u00a0What your partner does for you day in and day out shows your love many times over the amount that any one gift ever could.\u00a0 Men AND women are aware of this.\u00a0 It’s a pity whoever is creating the ads for jewelry companies never got the memo.<\/p>\n
