Tuesday April 5th is a big deal in my world. \u00a0It is mine and my husband Pat’s 10th anniversary! \u00a0He picked the wedding date- it was 04-05-06. \u00a0He is so clever! \u00a0I am embarrassed to admit that I could not find a photo on my laptop from our actual wedding day, but this photo was taken not long afterwards and shows how different we\/ I looked then!<\/p>\n
This is a big deal for me for all kinds of reasons. \u00a0Of course the biggest is that Pat and I are still very happy together and it doesn’t feel like it’s been anywhere near 10 years since we got hitched. \u00a0 We don’t have any huge plans for Tuesday, but we are planning a trip to Vegas in July to celebrate. \u00a0He truly is my best friend and I’m so happy we’re together.<\/p>\n
This landmark date got me thinking that there aren’t very many things at all that I can say I’ve done for 10 years other than breathe and be madly in love with Jon Bon Jovi (sorry Pat).<\/p>\n
I’ve never worked for the same company for 10 years (although I just hit 8 years with my current employer and have no plans to leave). \u00a0I’ve never (as an adult) been a member of a club, group or church for 10 years. \u00a0I’ve never been married for 10 years before. \u00a0(I was married before for 8 years, and he and I are still very good friends, but that’s another story for another day). \u00a0I’ve never had a pair of shoes or item of clothing for 10 years- they either wear out or my size changes.<\/p>\n
I HAVE had the same address for 10 years twice now (woohoo!). \u00a0 I currently have a 10 year old and a 14 year old cat, prior to that I had 2 cats that were with me for 12 years before going to that giant litter box in the sky. \u00a0My nephew is almost 12, so I’ve been an aunt for that long. \u00a0And yes, there is that 30+ year crush I have on one Jon Bon Jovi that I don’t see ending anytime soon.<\/p>\n
So, here’s to many more years of happiness for me and Pat, and to having the same address for the next 30+ years!<\/p>\n
