Even before COVID, I would have been happy to celebrate this one, but it means even more now.\u00a0 Today is National Personal Space Day.<\/p>\n
I did NOT grow up in a “huggy” family.\u00a0 Hugs were reserved for special occasions- thinks weddings and funerals.\u00a0 We showed love to each other, just not through physical contact.\u00a0 \u00a0So I’ve never been someone who wants to hug everyone.\u00a0 Not hugging people during COVID wasn’t an issue for me.<\/p>\n
But respecting personal space goes a lot further than hugs.\u00a0 It’s about understanding body autonomy and respecting everyone’s own boundaries.\u00a0 It’s about allowing everyone to be comfortable with whatever level of physical contact they want, regardless of how odd it might seem to you.<\/p>\n
