By the time this post goes live I will have said my final goodbyes to my sweet baby girl Pumpkin.\u00a0 She was 16 years old and we have had her since she was 5 months old.\u00a0 She is having severe digestive issues, she is losing weight rapidly, and she is not acting like herself at all.\u00a0 The other cats seem to know something is wrong too.<\/p>\n
I very much suggest that every get a pet and I am partial to cats.\u00a0 However, there is one big ol down side to companion animals, and that is that they get old a lot faster than people do.\u00a0 Sometimes our beloved pets pass on their own.\u00a0 But more often than not, there comes a day when you are forced to realize that their health is failing and the merciful thing to do is to help them pass peacefully.<\/p>\n
There are very expensive tests we could have done on her which could lead to very expensive treatments.\u00a0 But there are no guarantees that the tests would find anything treatable.\u00a0 And even if they did, there are no guarantees that putting her though expensive treatment would give her good quality days, and not just days.<\/p>\n
So we have made the heart-breaking decision to help her cross the Rainbow Bridge and end her suffering.\u00a0 We will be there with her until the end so she will feel loved in her final moments on Earth.\u00a0 It will suck bad.\u00a0 But deep down we know it’s the most kind, loving thing to do.<\/p>\n
