Today is World Mental Heath Day.<\/p>\n
Anyone who knows me at all knows how important this topic is to me.\u00a0 I’ve been very open about my own life-long struggles with my own mental health.\u00a0 I’ve been very vocal about how the stigma surrounding mental illness has hurt me and people I love.<\/p>\n
Mental illness is just that- an illness.\u00a0 \u00a0There is no logical reason to treat it differently than any other kind of illness.\u00a0 Do you look down on someone with thyroid disease?\u00a0 Do you think less of someone for having MS?\u00a0 Of course not.<\/p>\n
Today is the day you can be more sensitive in the way you talk about mental illness.\u00a0 Today is the day you can let a friend dealing with a mental illness know you are there for them without any judgement.\u00a0 Today is the day you can make a small change to make the world a more understanding place for those of us with mental illnesses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
