For years I have grumbled about Halloween having morphed from a fun time for kids to a full blown event for adults.\u00a0 \u00a0This in spite of having had a lot of fun at Halloween parties and dress up days at various employers!\u00a0 I don’t know why it bothered me so much, but it did.<\/p>\n
But I’m over that now.<\/p>\n
The world we live in is a dumpster fire.\u00a0 I don’t think I have to list out all the things that are wrong- just go back and read some of my old posts if are you’ve been living under a rock.\u00a0 I’ve taken to making myself feel better by deciding that I’ll probably be dead before things get as bad as I think they could get.\u00a0 \u00a0A part of me hopes I’m wrong and the younger generations will find a way to undo the damage before it’s too late, but again, I’ll be dead by then so I won’t be around to celebrate.<\/p>\n
So yeah, I totally get why people want to be someone else for a few hours.\u00a0 Why the hell not?\u00a0 Escapism as a form of coping?\u00a0 Sign me up!<\/p>\n
I am still not sure as the time of this writing what I’m going to be for Halloween this year.\u00a0 But I know I’m ready to be someone else for a short time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
