A few years ago I wrote about my life-long struggle with wet\/ stinky armpits\u00a0https:\/\/beckypalmer.me\/?p=2366<\/a>\u00a0 I’m sad to report that there hasn’t been much progress since then.<\/p>\n

I tried several “natural” deodorant products – i.e. ones without aluminum.\u00a0 Most of them simply didn’t work.\u00a0 I still smelled bad, but with a hint of vanilla \/ flowers\/ etc. included in the overall scent.\u00a0 And yes, I did give them more than a couple days in an attempt to see if that would help.\u00a0 It didn’t. If anything, each day was worse than the last.\u00a0 A couple of them made my armpits break out.\u00a0 Technically that helped because I didn’t swear as much, but an itchy, irritated armpit is worse than a wet stinky one!<\/p>\n

I tried a couple more of the extra strong products like Certain Dri.\u00a0 They destroyed my pits.\u00a0 I actually had open sores for a couple days.\u00a0 \u00a0It was awful.<\/p>\n

I tried a couple more men’s products.\u00a0 I discovered that there really isn’t any different between men’s and women’s besides the scent.\u00a0 I’d rather have a product that smells like baby powder vs. one that smells like pine trees.<\/p>\n

The only thing I can actually say that I have discovered since 2019 is that rotating products works the best for me.\u00a0 I can’t just buy one brand and use it every day.\u00a0 I have to alternate between 2 or 3 different products so my body doesn’t just decide to reject it entirely.\u00a0 And I’ve given up altogether on aluminum free products.\u00a0 There is almost no evidence that they are actually harmful anyway.\u00a0 And I do have to be around other people who do all have functioning senses of smell!<\/p>\n

As before, if someone knows of something I haven’t tried, please let me know.\u00a0 \u00a0After 40 plus years of fighting this battle I’m no closer to winning than I was when I was 10 years old.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
