As I\u2019m writing this I have a dull ache in my neck, shoulders, and uppers arms.\u00a0 And I\u2019m really happy about that.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because I had a wonderful massage yesterday!<\/p>\n
Getting a massage is one of the easiest things you can do to give yourself some quality \u201cme time\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 You can\u2019t go anywhere, you can\u2019t answer your phone, you can\u2019t check your email.\u00a0 You are forced to just be still and enjoy the moment.<\/p>\n
I am embarrassed to admit I was into my 40\u2019s before I discovered this joy for myself.\u00a0 My stylist at that time had a massage therapist move into her salon and after hearing all the rants and raves about this Kelsey woman I decided to check it out for myself.\u00a0 It didn\u2019t take me more than 2 minutes to get hooked for life.\u00a0 It became my favorite monthly appointment.\u00a0 Alas, she moved out of town when her husband got a promotion.\u00a0 I found someone else, but she wasn\u2019t as good.\u00a0 Then COVID happened and the entire world came to an ass-grinding halt.<\/p>\n
After COVID I kind of forgot about massages for a while.\u00a0 How, I have no idea!!\u00a0 About a year ago I had the realization that I REALLY missed them, so I took to the internet to find a new salon.\u00a0 I found a place in the town I work that was highly rated and offered early evening appointments and I made an appointment sight unseen.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m happy to say that purely by happenstance I found a new massage therapist who I love!\u00a0 I like deep tissue work.\u00a0 And I mean DEEP (which is why I\u2019m aching today).\u00a0 \u00a0Lexa is slowly gathering all of us deep tissue work lovers in the area because she will \u2013 in her own words- \u201creally go for it\u201d on us, which isn’t something all practitioners want to do.<\/p>\n
And that leads me back to my achy muscles.\u00a0 During the massage at times the pressure is JUST on that cusp between pleasure and pain.\u00a0 \u00a0It’s exquisite. And the ache the next day isn’t a bad ache- it’s a good kind of ache like after a good hard workout.<\/p>\n
Maybe my definition of a good massage doesn’t sound good to you.\u00a0 Some people prefer lighter pressure- including Lexa herself weirdly enough!\u00a0 So don’t let me scare you away.\u00a0 I urge, no, beg, you to get this joy in your own life.\u00a0 I promise you won’t regret it.<\/p>\n
