Today is Lighthouse Day!<\/p>\n
Lighthouses are not used today like they were used in centuries past, but they are a huge part of maritime history.<\/p>\n
There are many lighthouses in the US (and other countries) that have been preserved as museums.\u00a0 My personal favorite is Split Rock Lighthouse in northern Minnesota.\u00a0 It’s just north of Duluth and it’s in a beautiful state park.\u00a0 If you’ve never been (or if you haven’t been in ages) I recommend a visit.\u00a0 If you don’t live in the upper Midwest I’m sure you can find other ones to visit.\u00a0 They are very interesting!<\/p>\n
