It’s time for another round of short takes- i.e. thoughts that are rattling around my head that I can’t write enough about to make an entire post (in some cases I’ve tried), but have been rattling around my head being annoying enough I have to get them out.<\/p>\n
#1 Am I the only one who’s noticed that the people who post all the stupid shit on social media about not arguing about politics are the ones who then turn around and post some of the worst, most racist\/ sexist, etc. junk known to man?\u00a0 \u00a0So what they REALLY mean is that you shouldn’t argue with THEM.\u00a0 That is a very different position, but not one that paints them in a good light.<\/p>\n
#2 I don’t understand how people can be in long term relationships- I’m talking decades here- and have never heard\/ smelled the other person fart.\u00a0 I know someone who’s been married for over 20 years and has only heard his wife fart once when she was heavily pregnant.<\/p>\n
Farting is almost a love language in my house.\u00a0 We rate each other’s on length, volume and smell.\u00a0 It falls under “I am 100% free to be exactly who I am”, which is one of the bedrocks of our marriage.\u00a0 My husband and I don’t have to sensor ourselves in any way and we love each other warts and all.\u00a0 I am sad for everyone who doesn’t have a marriage like that.<\/p>\n
#3 I know this is amazing, but I am capable of knowing a fair amount about the modern NFL and processing a vagina at the same time.\u00a0 I can’t believe that in 2024 this is still a thing.<\/p>\n
#3a\u00a0 Taylor Swift is not ruining football.<\/p>\n
#4 It’s perfectly OK to have weekends or even entire WEEKS with nothing going on.\u00a0 There is nothing wrong with going to work and then going home and just hanging out with your family.\u00a0 Or even just hanging out with yourself.\u00a0 Sometimes I just want to stare at the TV and not think any hard thoughts for a while and I will not be shamed for it.<\/p>\n
#5\u00a0 It’s OK to wear makeup.\u00a0 It’s OK not to wear makeup.\u00a0 It’s OK to shave your arm pits.\u00a0 It’s OK to not shave your arm pits.\u00a0 It’s OK to look any way YOU want to look.\u00a0 Society norms be damned.<\/p>\n
