We love any day that celebrates cats around here and today is no exception- it’s National Tabby Cat day!<\/p>\n
This is a very new holiday- created in 2016 by Mayor\u2019s Alliance for N.Y.C.\u2019s Animals to celebrate and educate the public about tabby cats.\u00a0 Tabby isn’t a breed- it’s a color pattern that is seen in many different types of purebred cats as well as your typical run of the mill pet cats most of us cat lovers have. Tabbies are known as loving, friendly cats and are come in many different colors and patterns.<\/p>\n
Currently we have one tabby here at Casa Palmer- Lilly.\u00a0 \u00a0She is best known as “the one who showed up pregnant” and the mother of Black Kitty, Gray Kitty, and Striped Kitty.\u00a0 She is our smallest cat and is BFFs with Oreo.\u00a0 My very indoor only pet cat was also an enormous tabby by the name of Buddy.\u00a0 He was – in the words of my vet at the time- the dumbest cat God ever made, but he was the sweetest cat and he loved everyone.<\/p>\n
