They say if you can laugh at yourself you you will never run out of material.\u00a0 I am certainly proof of that.\u00a0 In no particular order, here are the top five times I have had no choice but to laugh at myself recently:<\/p>\n
#1 Forgetting what direction I was going.\u00a0 I was on my way home after a quick trip to southern Minnesota.\u00a0 I stopped halfway home to grab a bite to eat.\u00a0 Afterwards I got back on the interstate but I was going north.\u00a0 It took me a LOT longer than it should have to realize I was supposed to be going home, not towards my parents’ home.<\/p>\n
#2 Hurting myself doing yoga.\u00a0 For the most part I am really enjoying my latest attempt to add yoga to my life.\u00a0 But I’m terrible at balancing poses.\u00a0 Just awful.\u00a0 Yet in spite of this knowledge I decided to attempt tree pose when I was tired and not fully concentrating.\u00a0 Long story short, I have a very swollen, bruised and likely broken toe to show for my efforts.<\/p>\n
#3 Misunderstanding GPS.\u00a0 On my same recent trip to Minnesota I was trying to use my phone to talk to someone (crazy concept I know) and use my GPS at the same time.\u00a0 I completely forgot that the GPS will override phone calls and made 2 wildly wrong turns based on what I thought I was seeing on my screen.\u00a0 Thankfully I had plenty of time to get where I was going because I used all of it!<\/p>\n
#4 Inability to carry items.\u00a0 I managed to drop both a 35lb container of cat litter AND a full bottle of Diet Mt Dew on my own foot lately.\u00a0 I’ve also dropped my car keys in such a way that I had to crawl under my car to get them out, tripped myself carrying clean sheets into the bedroom, and dropped a bottle of toilet bowl cleaner in a way that sprayed it all over me and my bathroom.<\/p>\n
#5 Washed a pair of jeans with a Kleenex in the pocket.\u00a0 We’ve all done it.\u00a0 Probably not as many times as I have though.\u00a0 Or as recently.\u00a0 Sigh.<\/p>\n
We can all use some brevity in these trying times.\u00a0 I cannot recommend laughing at yourself enough- most of us can remain in stitches for years this way!<\/p>\n
