If you ask 10 people, 9 of them would probably say their favorite season is summer.\u00a0 I would be that 10th person.\u00a0 I will not go so far as to say I hate summer, but I don’t love it.\u00a0 I think it’s WAY overrated!<\/p>\n
People say they love summer because they can be outside longer.\u00a0 You know what’s outside?\u00a0 Mosquitos and pollen.\u00a0 \u00a0Nothing like being an itchy, sneezy mess to make a day special.\u00a0 \u00a0What else happens when you are outdoors too long?\u00a0 Sunburn.\u00a0 Nobody likes that.\u00a0 And call me crazy, but I prefer it to be dark outside when I go to bed.<\/p>\n
People say they love summer because of the temperatures.\u00a0 \u00a0Heat makes me sweat profusely, and as I get older it’s only getting worse.\u00a0 When I sweat lot I smell and look terrible.\u00a0 I don’t enjoy that one bit.\u00a0 People die from heatstroke every year.\u00a0 They are dying in droves right now in Europe because of heat!<\/p>\n
People say they love summer because of the traveling.\u00a0 Clearly these people have never been to the upper Midwest because right now approximately 80% of our roads are under construction.\u00a0 I have to leave 10 minutes early every day for work because the highway I normally take is being worked on for the 6th time in 7 years.<\/p>\n
And in this economy who can afford to travel anyway?\u00a0 I started saving in 2024 for the trip to Iceland my husband and I are taking in September and are very fortunate that we booked our flights before the cost shot up a few months ago.<\/p>\n
People say they love summer because they love going to the beach or the pool.\u00a0 Ok, there is actually merit in this one.\u00a0 Score a point for Team Summer.<\/p>\n
People say they love summer for the events.\u00a0 I love a good county fair.\u00a0 I love watching fireworks.\u00a0 I enjoy the occasional picnic.\u00a0 I just like them more when it’s not 95 degrees out.<\/p>\n
People say they love summer clothing.\u00a0 This is another one I can kind of understand, but more exposed skin requires more time spent on personal grooming and skin care and increases your risk of sunburn.<\/p>\n
My favorite season is fall.\u00a0 Temps are nicer, the bugs and weeds are mostly gone, most of the road construction is done, and there is football.\u00a0 \u00a0I will take that over a sweaty day in the sand 10 times out of 10.<\/p>\n
