I’m petty enough my original list of 5 doesn’t even begin to cover all the things I care about far too much to be psychologically healthy.\u00a0 \u00a0I am aware that doesn’t paint me in the best light, but I don’t care.\u00a0 These are my hill and these are my beans (bonus points if you get the movie reference).<\/p>\n
#1 The best music was made in the 80s.\u00a0 Before autotune.\u00a0 Before algorithms. No matter what genre you like,\u00a0 it was represented well in the 1980s.\u00a0 \u00a0Country.\u00a0 Pop. Rock.\u00a0 Hip-hop.\u00a0 Rap.\u00a0 We had it all and we had no idea how good we had it.<\/p>\n
And everyone was welcome in the pool!\u00a0 Radio stations played Kenny Rogers followed by Kenny Loggins followed by Whitesnake followed by Whitney Houston.\u00a0 And don’t even get me started on the music videos!<\/p>\n
#2 Leggings are not pants.\u00a0 I don’t want to see your ass crack in the grocery store.\u00a0 I don’t want to see your crotch in Target.\u00a0 \u00a0Exercise clothes are for exercising.\u00a0 Your son’s baseball game is not the gym.\u00a0 Sephora is not a yoga studio.<\/p>\n
#3 Android is superior to Apple.\u00a0 Why would I chose a system that only has 2 or 3 phone models available when I could have my pick of dozens?\u00a0 Why would I choose platform with 50% of apps being free vs. one with 85% of apps being free?\u00a0 Why would I chose to have less compatibility with every other devise I own?<\/p>\n
People who love Apple are people who think having an iPhone means something.\u00a0 \u00a0And it does, just not what you think it does.<\/p>\n
#4 Real books are the best way to consume books.\u00a0 I don’t want to read books on my tablet.\u00a0 Reading is one of my escapes from screens.\u00a0 There is nothing like curling up with a good book and a cozy blanket. And while I get the appeal of audiobooks I’m not a fan of them either.\u00a0 I don’t want to think that hard while I’m driving or exercising.<\/p>\n
#5 The “reply to all” option should be removed from email entirely.\u00a0 \u00a0OR, at bare minimum you should have to go through extensive training before being allowed to use it.\u00a0 There are few things more frustrating than getting trapped in the middle of a “reply to all” email chain that does not involve you yet you have no way to remove yourself from.<\/p>\n
