(Almost) every year I post a list of things I’m thankful for this time of year. \u00a0After all, that is the point of Thanksgiving! \u00a0 I’m not going to do that this year, but I am going to write down a list of blessing and I recommend that everyone reading this do the same. \u00a0And given all the strife, anger and name-calling of this year I think it’s more important than ever this year for ALL of us to remember how blessed we really are.<\/p>\n
Sure, it’s easy to remember 2016 as a dumpster fire. \u00a0I had my gall bladder removed in April. \u00a0My depression and anxiety relapsed recently. \u00a0I had a fender bender last week. \u00a0Two of my cousins lost their father suddenly in March. \u00a0None of those are too great.<\/p>\n
But also in 2016 Pat and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in Las Vegas. \u00a0My cousins and I have celebrated them getting engaged, pregnant, and being Homecoming Queen. \u00a0 I got to see my niece dance and graduate from preschool. I got to see my nephew in his middle school talent show. \u00a0I have a lot to be thankful for and so does everyone reading this.<\/p>\n
If you are reading this, it means that you have electric power and\/ or a smart phone. \u00a0It means that you have leisure time to spend as you see fit. \u00a0It means you can read. \u00a0It means you can see. \u00a0It means you are alive. \u00a0 \u00a0And there is no greatest blessing than that.<\/p>\n
