My intent for today’s post was to write about the women’s marches that took place last weekend and the bizarre backlash against them from women. \u00a0 And I’m not referring to the backlash against hate speech, vandalism or littering\u00a0– those are all valid points. \u00a0I’m referring to women who genuinely don’t see why anybody was marching at all because they think everything is hunky dory already.<\/p>\n
There are women alive today older than a woman’s right to vote. \u00a0When us gen xers were kids there were no laws prohibiting sexual harassment in the workplace. \u00a0There is no law that requires employers to pay women as much as men even today. \u00a0 Our rights are very new and in many respects well behind many other countries we normally see ourselves as superior to.<\/p>\n
However, it has been brought to my attention that someone already wrote this, and wrote it better than I could have. \u00a0Her name is Dina Leygerman and she wrote a beautiful article on this very topic and posted it to Medium today:<\/p>\n
