I admit it. I’m a hypocrite.
Last week I wrote about the importance of NOT constantly arguing online and logging off when you need to. If you missed it (I was having publishing issues) you can read it here: http://beckypalmer.thecomputerguy.bz/2017/01/give-peace-a-chance-online/
Excellent advise, right? Too bad I didn’t follow it. In spite of my best intentions I did indeed insert myself into a few more political arguments in the early part of last week. I’m not proud of this. On Wednesday I had a therapy session and we discussed this at length and agreed that I needed to take my own advise for the sake of my own mental health. So, I walked out of that session determined to not get into any more political arguments online. And, I’m proud to say, that I haven’t. However……
Over the weekend I found myself getting into “discussions” on vaccines, cat declawing and the New England Patriots. And they got me almost as riled up as the political ones.
SO, clearly I still have a long ways to go. BUT, I still believe that if everyone does as I say, and if we forgive each other when we slip up, social media can be a more friendly place again. I haven’t given up, and I sure hope you haven’t either.
