I am a pretty open book, both on my blog and in real life, I wear my heart on my sleeve and can’t lie my way out of a wet paper sack. But there are a few nooks and crannies in my life that have flown under the radar. Things like (in no particular order):
#1 I had a nightlight until I was 34 and I’m still afraid of the dark. My childhood bedroom faced a yard light so I had a thousand watt nightlight every night.
#2 Little people freak me out. I blame it on being so tall- don’t know if that’s really it or not, but they just make me very uncomfortable.
#3 My first concert? Sheena Easton with opening act Michael Damian at the Minnesota State Fair in 1989.
#4 When I graduated from high school I planned on becoming a pediatrician.
#5 I hate reality TV, with the one exception of Dancing with the Stars, which I freely admit is a very silly show. I’ve never watched a full episode of Survivor, the Amazing Race, the Bachelor, or any of their cousins. The only two episodes of American Idol I ever watched all the way through were the two where Jon Bon Jovi was the celebrity mentor.
#6 I starting watching NFL football in college to spend more time with a guy I was interested in. Before that I was a basketball chick. That guy is now my ex-husband, and he and I are still in a Fantasy Football League together and very good friends.
#7 I was a shy and somber child. I have witnesses to prove it.
#8 I have an unhealthy obsession with the TV show Who’s Line Is it Anyway. I love the Drew Carey seasons, the Aisha Tyler seasons, and have even watched most of the original British episodes- many of which did feature Ryan Stiles and/ or Colin Mochrie,
#9 I have never seen any of these movies: Jaws, Frozen, Iron Man (any of them), Harry Potter (any of them), Hunger Games (any of them).
10# I hate broccoli. I’ve tried it raw, cooked, covered in cheese, just about any way you can imagine. It all smells like farts and tastes worse.
So, there’s a little more about me. What fun facts are there about you we should all know?
