Today is Milk Day!
This is a day that means a lot to me as I grew up on a dairy farm. My sister was a dairy princess. Milk was an integral part of my childhood.
While the origins of Milk Day are unclear, it is believed that it was designed to celebrate the usage of sanitary glass containers for milk delivery. This was a huge development and allowed the growth of widespread home delivery of dairy products.
No one I know is getting home milk delivery anymore, but you can still celebrate today with a nice tall glass. Or maybe some cheese or ice cream. No matter what you choose, today is a great day to make sure you get your calcium!
