Black Cat Appreciation Day. Yes, We are Doing This One Again

Today is Black Cat Appreciation Day.

Yes, I mark this one every year because this one is that important to me.

As you know, for the past 15 years I have shared my home with a number of black beauties.  We currently have 2 adult black cats, Pumpkin and Boots, and one of Lilly’s kittens is black as well.

In 2021 it is still true that black cats are the least likely to be adopted from shelters and the most likely to be abused by humans.  This is simply ridiculous.

I can assure you from years of personal experience that black cats are not bad luck, meaner than other cats, or more difficult to photograph (yes, this is a real thing!).  Just like people or any other animal, each cat has its own personality and its coat color isn’t a factor.

So once again I beg of you to do your part to stop the spread of misinformation about black cats.  And, if you are looking for new cat yourself, please consider bringing one of these awesome mini panthers into your own home.
