I don’t think there are many people who don’t know what a piano is. I’d say a lot of us even take them for granted. But today is the day to really celebrate this magnificent instrument.
This one is extra special to me. I took piano lessons for 10 years as a child, so did my sister. The piano is still the centerpiece of our Christmas Eve celebration. And when, years ago, our parents asked if there was anything specific we wanted them to leave us in the will, we both said “the piano”! So I am all about this one 🙂
How to celebrate? Well, if you have a piano in your home sit down and play a bit. Even if it’s been a while. ESPECIALLY if it’s been a while! If you don’t, the internet is full of lovely music you can enjoy and share. And if you know anyone- young or old- who is currently taking piano lessons, today is a good day to encourage them to keep at it.
