If there was ever a holiday that shows how much things have changed since I was a kid, it’s this one. Today is National Selfie Day.
Oh sure, we tried taking the occasional selfie back in the day of film cameras. But we had NO idea of they would turn out until we finished the roll and got the pictures developed. And if it didn’t turn out you were just out of luck. The event had lost since ended.
Today you can take hundreds of pictures of yourself in a matter of seconds and delete them all just as fast. You have infinite opportunities to get the lighting just right and make sure you didn’t blink or make that weird face you sometimes make.
Is this an improvement? A lot of signs would say “no”, but I’ll leave that up for debate.
