My husband is a big autograph collector. He enjoys getting autographs from sports figures, actors, musicians, etc. It can be a pricy hobby, but so is just about any hobby if you do it right.
I don’t love the thrill of the hunt the same way he does, but I do enjoy meeting people whose work I enjoy and / or admire. In 2021 I got to meet Adam Savage from Mythbusters. I’ve met several members of the cast of Star Wars- both original series and Next Generation. By the time you are reading this I will have met someone else on my bucket list- actor/ director Kevin Smith.
And yes, I am well aware that my list is nerdy. I don’t care. I like what I like.
But even more than that, I like that this hobby of my husband’s has turned into something we can enjoy together. We might not wind up getting any of the same lines at the show, but we can get excited to go together, compare our hauls together, and enjoy the fantastic people watching together. If the show is a larger one there’s a hotel stay involved too (wink wink).
So yeah, I’m excited for TwinCitiesCon. And all the cons to follow, all with my husband at my side. Eventually. Back at the hotel anyway 😉
