By the time you are reading this I should be safely back in the area I grew up in. My husband Pat and I make the trek to southern Minnesota every year on December 23nd.
This year it looks like we should have good weather for the trip- this is not always the case. A couple years ago we started out with good weather but got into major snow about halfway there. A few years before that we did get to Minnesota OK only to come back home again on Christmas Eve because a major blizzard was coming. But this year the drive should be easy.
In spite of the number of solo trips we take, I love traveling with Pat. Sometimes we put on the 70s or 80s channels on SiriusXM and memories come to mind we haven’t shared for years if ever. Sometimes we gossip. Sometimes we have deep conversations. Sometimes we don’t talk at all. No matter what, there is no one I’d rather spend 2 hours (or more) in a car with.
My Christmas wish for all of you is that you have someone in your life that you love spending time with just as much.
