It takes a LOT of education to become a librarian. In many places a Masters Degree is required! And the average salary of a librarian is only $60K- not much at all for the amount of education required. So you know librarians are doing it for the love of it- no one’s getting rich doing this.
Our libraries are a treasure. Where else can you find book on everything under the sun, help with finding a job or child care, book clubs, tons of educational programs for kids, and internet access, all for free? Nowhere!
