About 6 months ago I wrote that I had found a great YouTube Channel- Yoga with Adriene.   I also admitted that I have tried many times in the past to get into yoga but I got frustrated and gave up.

I’m happy to report that I haven’t given up yet even though progress has been slow.

I’m still terrible at anything that requires standing on one leg.  I still can’t get both heels on the ground at the same time in downward dog.  I still can’t do a headstand.

So why am I still excited about it and sticking with it?

A lot of it does have to do with Adriene herself.  She focuses on the full yoga experience- not just getting into a pose for the sake of it.  Her tagline is “find what feels good”.  As I mentioned before Adriene has been posting on YouTube for 10 years and still puts out new videos weekly.  She does also have a studio in Austin Texas, so if you live there I would encourage you to check her out in person.

Also, I do see and feel progress.  I can do poses I couldn’t do 6 months ago and I am more flexible too.  My posture is better.  I feel stronger and my massage therapist has mentioned she can feel more muscles on me too.

So yes, this experience has been great so far and I’m very optimistic for more successes.  Hopefully in another 6 months I’ll have another update. Maybe by then I’ll be able to stand on one leg for more than 3 seconds!
