There are a lot of crazy myths out there. There are a couple categories that I see over and over again that really bug me. And they finally bugged me enough that I have to say something before I lose it.
#1 NO ONE is putting Nair in shampoo bottles and making their roommates/ former lovers/ stepsisters/ etc. go bald.
How do I know this? Because I’ve used Nair. I used it years ago on my legs and I currently use it on and off for my bikini line. And there are 2 things I can tell you about Nair that make these stories impossible.
First, Nair smells to high heaven. Even the stuff they tout as their “best smelling” formulas are not subtle. My entire bathroom smells for some time after I use it. No one could miss the scent even if you had just woke up. Second, Nair takes time to work. At least 15 minutes to be exact. Even if you somehow had a roommate with no sense of smell no one is shampooing their hair for 15 to 20 minutes.
#2 Eye creams are a scam. I have tried many different creams to fight the dark circles under my eyes. No one them have worked. I had found an article online about an eye cream that was supposed to be a miracle. She had my attention, even though the cream was $68. The author ranted and raved about this amazing cream. At the end of the very long article she posted pictures. There was almost zero difference. I blew up the pictures. I could still see no difference. At this point I realized that no eye cream, no matter the price tag, won’t fix my dark circles. So I’m back to the $8 stuff I used to use.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
