Celebrating Three Years of Oreo

No Comments on Celebrating Three Years of Oreo

It’s been three years since we brought Oreo into our home.  And nothing has been the same since.  I used to refer to Lilly as our mayhem causing cat.  And she was.  But Oreo has now taken the crown.

He has become a bit of a neighborhood star.  He loves to lounge in our front window and the sheer number of people who tell me or Pat they saw him when they drove or walked by is kind of crazy.  The pizza delivery guy knows to watch out for him (and Lilly) so he doesn’t sneak out into the front porch.  Random people in Target will ask about him.

Inside our home he’s kind of a big deal too.  He’s a big boy.  Not the least bit fat, but he’s long and tall and he has some weight to him- you have to put your knees into it to pick him up.  Assuming he’s stood still long enough for you to snag him- which is not that often.  He does still get the zoomies but thankfully it’s a lot more common at 8pm vs. 3am.

He and Lilly are great friends most of the time.  Even though he’s twice her size now Lilly can still pounce on him and knock him on his ass.  And yes they still clean each other’s ears sometimes too.

Oreo and Boots get along when no one is watching, but he still forgets several times a day that rough housing is not one of her love languages.   Sigh.

Oreo is still exceptionally photogenic.  And incredibly cute.  It’s almost maddening- it can be really hard to scold him when he’s being the picture of adorable.  He’s also a big ham. Anyone who comes by the house will see the most well behaved, charming cat known to man.  He loves being the center of attention!

He’s a goofball and a moron and sometimes a huge pain in the ass, but we love him to bits and couldn’t imagine life without him.  Here’s to many more crazy years together!
