Today is the day to celebrate all the ways we connect with people nowadays – it’s Social Media day!
Mashable was the first to proclaim today Global Social Media Day waaaay back in 2010 to mark the undeniably huge impact social media has on all of our lives. As part of the celebration, they encourage “meet-ups”, where folks could meet finally meet their online friends face to face. Since then, other platforms such as Twitter have also gotten on the bandwagon with “Tweet-ups” held around the world as well.
Of course today has an official hashtag- it’s #smday . Check it out on the social media platform of your choice to learn more and to see if there are any meet-ups in your area.
