I’ve been talking about for ages. I have been planning for even longer (2 years to be exact).
One month from today Pat and I will be in Iceland. It doesn’t seem like it can possibly be true. It’s been so far away for so long.
We’ve gotten passports. We’ve booked flights and and a hotel. We’ve booked day trips. We’ve quizzed friends who have been to Iceland. I tried to learn Icelandic but that didn’t go very well. Thankfully, everyone there speaks English. And I AM going to commit a few simple phrases – like “where is the bathroom?” – to memory. I’ve started getting videos in my social media of a Icelandic comedian.
The month of August is going to fly by. I’m going to see comedian Maria Bamford, going to the Minnesota State Fair and taking in a Weird All concert, and I have a evening cruise work event, and I have a work trip to the East Coast.
But Iceland will be on my mind the entire time. Squeee!!
