5 years ago this weekend I moved to Iowa.
I need a moment to let that sink in.

5 years ago my nephew was a chubby lil 1 1/2 year old toddler just learning to talk. Now he’s in first grade, in the advanced reading class at his school, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of his baby sister in May.

5 years ago my goddaughter got Confirmed and was in eighth grade. Now she’s a Freshman at Concordia College in Seward.
5 years ago gas prices were, sadly, about the same as now.
5 years ago my best friend and I decided living 2 hours apart wasn’t any good. Now we are a month away from our 5 year anniversary. And I can honestly say the past 5 years have been the best years of my life.
