National Curves Day

Today is National Curves Day.  Today is the day to celebrate “curvy” women- aka any woman who wears over a size 14.  Fun fact- the average size in the US IS 14, so half the population is curvy.

For most of human history, fuller figured women were considered the most attractive women.  If you have ever talked through an art museum you’ll notice the women immortalized in paint, sculpture, etc. have much in common including larger breasts, thighs, and bellies.

Alas, I was born in the one era in human history where being unusually skinny is the standard of beauty.  It varies from brand to brand, but I usually wear a size 16 so I’m in the curvy camp.   AKA fat.  Its harder to find clothes that fit me and are actually fun and cute.  It’s doubly hard since I’m also 6 feet tall.

But at least today I can feel great about my curves.  I guess?
