Here we have another holiday that’s frequently observed as Casa Palmer. It’s National Iced Tea Day!
Did you know that while hot tea has been around for millennia, iced tea is a very new invention? It was first served at the St Louis World’s Fair in 1904? Due to warm temperatures, tea sales were down, so Richard Blechynden got the idea to serve it cold. It was a huge hit and now you can find it everywhere.
I personally don’t care for iced tea. But carbonation doesn’t agree with Pat, so unsweetened iced tea is a permanent fixture in our fridge (right next to my Diet Mt Dew) and our table.
So if you are so inclined, today is a great day to enjoy a cold glass!
