Today we commemorate the passing of the 19th amendment to the US Constitution- the amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote. In light of recent events and some of the rhetoric coming from the far right this seems more important than ever.
I recently read The Handmaid’s Tale. I enjoyed it but it did also make me realize how fragile my rights as a woman are.
Today we celebrate all the women who fought for our rights in the past. We thank the ones who continue to fight for all women. And we wonder how we can make the world better for the women still to come.
