Since I left my job as a tech support rep for a cellular company 4 years ago I have become less and less interested in the new gadgets that have become available for sale at what seems to be a faster rate every year. I barely blinked when the iPhone was released. I have never checked out prices or available features on a Kindle. It has just not been on a radar.
That all changed a few days ago when my husband brought home a Motorola Droid. This is one of of the coolest things I have even seen and I have been bitten by the jealousy bug since the first time I laid eyes on it. My husband has legitimate reasons for buying and using a “smart phone”- he is on the road all day and truly does need to be able to access his email and other websites when on the go. I work in a cube in front of a computer. As much as I love Facebook and other websites I don’t have any real reason to visit them when I’m not at home. But the voice of reason is being drowned out by the voice of “THAT IS SO COOL!!! I WANT ONE!!”
I am hoping that if I just ignore that obnoxious voice for a short time it will die down and I will be able to find happiness again with my basic black flip phone that does everything I need it to do and more. I don’t know if this plan is going to work or not. I will have to take it one day at a time and see………
